LOIS FRANKEL’S VOTING RECORD
Illegal Immigration / Border Security
Lois Frankel has no interest in securing America’s borders and protecting American citizens. Far from putting America first, Frankel consistently puts Americans last:
-
Voted against HR 7909, the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, which requires that non-U.S. nationals (“alien” under federal law) who are convicted of domestic violence crimes and sex offenses be deported. (9/18/2024)
-
Voted against HR 8281, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act or the SAVE Act, which requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections. (7/10/2024)
-
Also, she did not vote (“Not Voting”) for HR 192, which prohibits non-citizens from voting in elections in the District of Columbia. (5/23/2024)
-
-
Voted against HR 8580, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2025, including the amendment (H.Amdt.958) that would prevent illegal immigrants from using Veterans Administration benefits.
-
Voted against HR 8146, the Police Our Border Act, which will require a report by the Attorney General on the impact the border crisis is having on law enforcement at the Federal, State, local, and Tribal level. The bill passed anyway. (5/16/2024)
-
Voted against HR 7109, the Equal Representation Act, which would have allowed U.S. Congressional apportionment to be determined by the actual number of citizens in each state, excluding illegal immigrants. (5/8/2024)
-
Voted against HR 1371, which strongly condemned the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris's, failure to secure the United States border (7/25/2024). Also she did not vote (“Not Voting”) on HR 1065, which denounced the Biden/Harris administration's immigration policies (3/13/2024).
-
Voted against HR 7511, the “Laken Riley Act,” which requires DHS to detain illegal immigrants who have been arrested for burglary, theft, larceny, or shoplifting; also authorizes states to sue the federal government for decisions or alleged failures related to immigration enforcement. (3/7/2024)
-
Did not vote (“Not Voting”) on the resolution to impeach Alejandro Myorkas for his dereliction of duty related to control of immigration at our nation’s southern border. (2/13/2024)

“Not Voting” on HR 5856, which will strengthen anti-human trafficking laws. (2/13/2024)
-
Voted against the resolution to impeach Myorkas (that attempt failed). (2/6/2024)
-
Voted against HR 6976, which would allow deporting illegal immigrants who have been convicted of DUIs. (2/1/2024)

Voted against HR 5585 and H.Res. 980, which establish criminal penalties for illegal immigrants who cause the death or serious bodily injury of Border Control officers. (1/30/2024)
-
Voted against HR 2, The Secure The Border Act, which would require the Homeland Security Department to take a number of actions to limit illegal immigration into the United States, including resuming construction of the ‘border wall’ along the southwestern border, bolstering Customs and Border Protection, reopening border detention facilities, limiting asylum applications and eligibility, and establishing a mandatory employment verification system. (5/11/1023)
-
From 2016 to Nov. 2023, Frankel was a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus which lists “immigrant rights” as one of their top priorities.
Economy / Inflation / Federal Deficit
Lois Frankel recklessly spends taxpayer dollars, which has led to sky-high inflation and record-breaking national debt, both of which have caused incredible damage to American pocketbooks and the U.S. economy.
-
Did not vote (“Not Voting”) on HR 6276, the USE IT Act of 2023, which attempts to reign in excessive government spending by evaluating and consolidating public buildings and federally leased space that are less than 60% occupied. (3/12/2024)
-
Voted for the Inflation Reduction Act, which, as conservatives predicted, has done nothing to reduce inflation. Even the Biden/Harris administration admits that it was a huge spending bill rather than an attempt to stop inflation, calling it “the largest investment in clean energy and climate action ever.” (August 2022)
-
Gave billions of dollars to the IRS to hire 87K new employees, doubling the agency’s size, and enabling the IRS to employ more bureaucrats than the Pentagon, State Department, FBI, and Border Patrol combined.
-
This will the IRS to conduct more audits on small businesses and working families, costing middle-class taxpayers billions in taxes.
-
Crime / Public Safety / Law Enforcement
Local police officers say that as mayor of West Palm Beach, Lois Frankel was defunding the police long before there was a “Defund The Police” movement. In Congress, she has continued to vote against law & order and American safety:
-
Voted against HR 5698, the Protect and Serve Act of 2018, which would make it a federal crime to “knowingly assault a law enforcement officer causing serious bodily injury.” The bill passed with 382 bipartisan votes; only 35 members (including Frankel and members of the “Squad”) voted against it.
-
Voted for HR 1280, The George Floyd Justice In Policing Act, which would have cost hundreds of millions each year and would have eliminated qualified immunity for law enforcement. (3/3/2021)
Israel / Antisemitism
Although Lois Frankel sometimes talks about supporting Israel and standing up against antisemitism, her actions speak louder than her words, revealing how lukewarm her support really is:
-
She voted against HR 5179, the Anti-BDS Labeling Act. This vote suggests that Frankel supports the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement and its stated mission to “end international support for Israel's oppression of Palestinians.” (9/18/2024)
-
Other Democrat lawmakers (e.g. John Fetterman) have been much more vocal in their support for Israel, including refusing to call for a ceasefire in Gaza as well as speaking out against President Joe Biden for potentially withholding weapons from Israel, and for his stated support for a two-state solution (which many believe to be the root cause of radicalism that threatens the State of Israel). Frankel has mostly been silent as her party increasingly supports Hamas and radicals who agitate against Israel and Jewish Americans.
-
In July 2024, she issued a short statement after attending Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress, but did not criticize Democrat Presidential nominee Kamala Harris for skipping the speech, nor did Frankel speak out against the protestors who harassed Netanyahu.
-
In June 2024, she voted against H.Amdt. 1066, which would prohibit certain foreign assistance funds (those in the appropriations bill H.R.8771) from being given to areas of Syria controlled by Bashar al-Assad.
-
In April 2023, she was a no-show (absent) when Congress voted on HR 311, which was in support of Israel and The Abraham Accords. It passed 401-19, with only a small number of members of Congress (including the Squad) voting against it.
-
Frankel joined the Congressional Progressive Caucus in 2016 and didn’t resign until 11/20/2024, after years of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic rhetoric from CPC leaders and more than a month after the CPC leaders spoke in favor of Palestine and the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel. In fact, she has long maintained that she supported the "Squad" and has spoken fondly about being a mentor to them.
Women’s and Girls’ Sports / Title IX
Despite claiming to be a champion of women’s rights, Lois Frankel has voted against single sex sports, thus depriving females of scholarships, trophies, and safety on the playing fields and in locker rooms and bathrooms:
-
Voted against HR 734, the Protection of Women And Girls in Sports Act of 2023, which would have strengthened Title IX to make it clear that the federal government cannot fund athletic programs that that allow individuals of the male sex to participate in programs or activities that are designated for women or girls.
Corruption / Ethics
Lois Frankel has been in the news many times over possible ethics violations, including multiple questionable stock trades, with her most recent scandalous stock trade in May 2023 receiving significant national and international media coverage.
-
Campaign in 2012 when she was criticized for accepting $20,000 from Digital Domain Media Group for her campaign five months after the company was awarded a project that included incentives from the city of West Palm Beach. She ultimately was forced to give the contribution to charity.
-
Less than 5% of Lois Frankel’s campaign contributions come from small donors in her district. Instead, she is supported by “fat cats” and PACs who represent special interests (see https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/summary?cid=N00002893 ).
-
In 2021 (the latest year figures are available), Frankel’s net worth was $4.17 million, putting her in the Top 10 of richest Florida politicians, despite her career in government with a top annual salary of $200K (see https://floridapolitics.com/archives/457081-disclosures-show-florida-congressional-delegation-includes-21-millionaires/ ).

Welfare
Lois Frankel favors government hand-outs over hard work.
-
She voted against HR 2811 which would institute work requirements for welfare. (April 2023)
-
She has expressed support for the Biden/Harris Administration’s plans to have American tax-payers foot the bill for “forgiven” college student loans.
-
She supports allowing illegal immigrants to participate in Social Security/Medicare, which will bankrupt those two programs.
Bi-Partisanship / Division
Lois Frankel is far-left, not moderate. She was a long-time member of the Progressive Caucus, considered the most radical, far-left congressional group and is a self-styled mentor to “The Squad.”
-
Her record shows she’s a liberal extremist: https://www.isidewith.com/candidates/lois-frankel/ideologies
-
She has a 95% rating from ProgressivePunch.org.
-
She voted with the Biden/Harris stated position 100% of the time according to a FiveThirtyEight analysis.
-
She propped up Joe Biden, lying to the American people about his condition and capabilities. When Attorney General Merrick Garland did not comply with a House subpoena to turn over Special Counsel Robert Hur’s audio tapes which provided evidence of Biden’s mental fitness, Frankel refused to hold Garland in contempt (7/11/2024 and 6/12/2024).

Excessive Government Regulation / Big Brother
Lois Frankel favors an all-powerful central government over state and individual rights.
-
Voted against HR 2799, the Expanding Access to Capital Act of 2023, which will reduce various securities regulations to allow more investment. Note that before this bill was passed, Frankel voted for 5 different amendments which would have saddled it with burdensome rules and red tape. (3/8/2024)
-
Frankel has generally opposed measures to rein in government surveillance. She voted against the Massie-Lofgren amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to defund Section 702 surveillance and prevent "backdoor" warrantless FBI surveillance of U.S. citizens. She voted for House cybersecurity information sharing bills that facilitate surveillance, and for the extension of USA PATRIOT Act financial surveillance (HR 5606). She voted against the USA RIGHTS Act, which would have helped to restore Americans' protections against government surveillance.
-
Frankel wants central control over most aspects of your life, including the car you can drive and the appliances in your kitchen:
-
Voted against HR 7700, Stop Unaffordable Dishwasher Standards Act. (7/10/2024)
-
Voted against HR 7637, the Refrigerator Freedom Act. (7/9/2024)
-
Voted against an amendment that would prevent the Department of Energy from implementing strict new regulations that limit consumer choices of gas stoves and ovens. (3/29/2023)
-
-
Did not vote against a series of bills and amendments that prohibit the Federal Reserve from establishing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) that would eliminate privacy for how Americans spend their money. (5/23/2024)
-
Voted against HR 5, the Parents Bill of Rights, which aimed at boosting parents’ access to information about their child’s education and would require schools to make their curricula public. (3/24/2023)
-
Voted against HR 1425, the No WHO Pandemic Preparedness Treaty Without Senate Approval Act, which establishes that any convention or agreement on pandemic-related issues reached by the World Health Assembly shall be deemed to be a treaty requiring the advice and consent of the Senate, and thus protect Americans from being controlled by entities outside our nation. (9/11/2024)
Anti-American and Anti-Business
Lois Frankel doesn’t believe that “the business of America is business.” She doesn’t want to promote American companies. And she doesn’t want to protect American interests from interference or ownership by our enemies.
-
ESG Investing. Lois Frankel prefers “Woke” ideology to fiscal responsibility. She voted against HR 5339, the Rollback ESG To Increase Retirement Earnings Act, or the RETIRE Act, which requires employer-sponsored retirement plans to prioritize fiduciary issues over other factors. She voted against HR 1506, the ESG Act of 2023, which would require pension fund managers (and 401-k managers) to focus on crtiteria like return-on-investment rather than basing investment decisions on other factors like climate change. Despite Frankel’s vote, this bill passed the House and the Senate, and was vetoed by Joe Biden (his first veto).
-
U.S. Tax Breaks for Chinese Imports. She voted against HR 7980, the “End Chinese Dominance of Electric Vehicles in America Act of 2024,” which would amend the IRS Code to exclude vehicles with batteries which contain materials sourced from prohibited foreign entities from the clean vehicle credit. (9/12/2024)
-
U.S. Food Supply Controlled by America’s Enemies. She voted against HR 9456, Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act of 2024, which would require review of sales of agricultural land, agricultural biotechnology, or other aspects of the agriculture industry (e.g., agricultural transportation, storage, and processing) by individuals/entities from China, North Korea, Russia, or Iran. (9/11/2024)
-
Threats from the CCP.
-
She voted against HR 1398, Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act of 2024, which revived a law the DOJ terminated in 2022 to (1) counter nation-state threats to the United States; (2) curb spying by the Chinese Communist Party on U.S. intellectual property and academic institutions; (3) identify and prosecute individuals engaged in trade secret theft, hacking, and economic espionage; and (4) protect U.S. critical infrastructure from foreign threats. (9/11/2024)
-
She voted against HR 1516, which restricts taxpayer funding of an institution of higher education that is funded by the Chinese government and also requires disclosures related to universities or colleges involved in China's military, police, or intelligence activities. (9/10/2024)
-
-
Favors “Green Energy” Over Protecting the Grid. She voted against H.Amdt. 1122, which would transfer $10 million from renewable energy programs to enhance the security of existing electrical transformers from cyber threats and from physical attacks from individuals. (7/23/2024)
What Does Lois Frankel Do All Day?
-
She doesn’t show up to work. From Jan. 2013 to Sept. 2024, Frankel missed almost 4% of roll call votes, which is about twice the median of missed votes among the lifetime records of representatives currently serving in Congress. See https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/lois_frankel/412529.
-
She doesn’t accomplish much. In 12 years in Congress, she has been the primary sponsor of only 4 bills that were enacted. Of those 4, two were related to statues (HR 4814 and HR 1455), one was for a Congressional Gold Medal (HR 6015), and the last was an amendment to a FEMA bill (HR 1678). See https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/lois_frankel/412529.
-
She’s a poster child for term limits. This 76-year old career politician has been in government for almost 30 years. Frankel was term limited out of her job as State Representative; then she was term limited out of her job as Mayor of West Palm Beach. So she ran for a position she can theoretically keep for the rest of her life with minimal effort.
