Peace And Prosperity Through Strength: Why Standing Strong with Israel In the War With Iran is in America’s National Best Interests

I am a business leader and a pro-Trump Republican running for Congress in President Trump’s home district in Palm Beach County (FL CD-22). I’m not a career politician, and believe in action and I believe in accountability. In our current era of global volatility, maintaining our alliance with Israel in the war with Iran is exactly the kind of action we need to take to protect America’s national best interests.

For nearly half a century, the radical regime in Iran has funded global terrorism directly and indirectly through its proxies such as Hamas and Hezbollah. And it has threatened the world with its nuclear weapons program, ballistic missiles, and sophisticated drones. The weak American response to these atrocities has done nothing but embolden Iran further. The time for the failed "strategic patience" of the radical left is over – put simply, it just isn’t working.

Therefore, I stand 100% with the actions President Trump is taking in Iran. I am glad we finally have a Commander-in-Chief who treats a terrorist-sponsoring regime like the threat it is, rather than just another nation to be naively appeased.

As a Christian who was raised in a religious household, I have always held a deep reverence for the Holy Land and a commitment to the survival of the Jewish state. But my support for Israel stems from much more than just that, and for reasons sufficient in their own right: in addition to fighting terrorism, working with Israel to maintain peace in the Middle East is critical to the America First agenda because it helps ensure American economic stability. As one of the world’s major oil producers, this region wields considerable power over energy prices. By crushing the influence of a rogue Iran, we prevent the regime-driven shocks to our economy that result from higher energy costs.

Supporting Israel in its quest to reign in belligerent forces is not charity and not abstract ideology. Instead, supporting Israel is a hard-nosed investment in combatting terrorism and promoting economic stability. On that note, once this conflict is finished, I look forward to a resumption of the Abraham Accords, which have been so successful in using commerce to foster peace and stability in the Middle East.

There is one more reason I have made the defense of the American/Israeli alliance a key part of my Congressional campaign: our common values that are under attack. As a student of history and political science in college, I learned how our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. And as an investor with an MBA in finance, I have seen that Israel stands out as a haven for freedom and innovation, which are also important American business values. So, when America supports Israel, we aren't just helping an ally—we are protecting and promoting our economy, and our own way of life, and thus our own national interests.

That’s why I have always been clear about where I stand: Israel has an absolute right to defend itself, and it serves our national interests if Congress ensures that Israel has the resources and support necessary to fight our common terrorist enemies.

One unfortunate byproduct of the current military activities is that a longstanding trip to Israel I had booked for early May was cancelled. This fact-finding trip was organized by my friends at JEXIT, a Florida-based group of American Jewish voters who have exited the Democratic Party. I have always said that I will bring a business leader’s perspective to Washington. A big part of my business training was an emphasis on making decisions based on a thorough consideration of all the facts, hence the trip to Israel. That is how I have approached the Middle East, and that is what you can expect from me as your congressman on all of the decisions I will be asked to make.

Another thing you can expect from me is that I will defend all of our foreign alliances, including Israel, that have our shared values and are of strategic importance to the United States of America. In Congress, I will ensure that, under our America First agenda, our friends will know we have their backs and our enemies will know we mean business: if they work against us, we will take decisive action, and we will hold them accountable for everything they do.
